A French international investment bank has expanded its crypto asset management services

A well-known French investment bank intends to expand its digital currency services in the near future using one of its subsidiaries - Security Services. Customers of this company who are managers in cryptocurrency funds will soon be able to choose this institution as a trustee or appraiser.

The newly launched IT tools aim to facilitate the addition of virtual currencies to institutional investors' portfolios. Societe Generale's newest client is a licensed asset management company in France that offers two EUR-denominated digital products - Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH), as well as derivatives.

"By combining the experience of a prestigious institution such as Societe Generale in the field of innovation with the technical skills of Arquant Capital, we are expanding the capabilities of SGSS to meet the needs of diversifying asset managers," emphasized David Abitbol (director of Societe Generale Securities Services).

Societe Generale Security Services is currently in the TOP 10 largest trustees in the world and TOP 3 largest institutions of this type in Europe. The bank provides fiduciary services to 3,312 funds. It has 22 locations around the globe and the value of its assets at the time of writing this article exceeds $ 4.2 trillion.

Previous experience with blockchain technology

Societe Generale is one of the institutions that test the digital euro together with the European Central Bank. In the past, the same bank also issued eurobonds using the Ethereum blockchain. Until recently, this subsidiary of Societe General also offered loans in DAI stablecoin.
