Snoop Dogg and Eminem will promote Metaverse and NFT at MTV
Famous American artists committed to promoting new technologies.
Next Sunday, the popular American rappers Eminem and Snoop Dogg will perform together at the gala organized annually by MTV, where the Video Music Awards (VMAs) will be awarded. The duo of musicians will perform together a song called "From the D 2 to the LBC", which was inspired by the Otherside metaverse platform and NFT Bored Ape Yacht Club tokens.
Eminem and Snoop Dogg are keen fans of NFT tokens
Both artists have been performing in public with each other for two decades and both are BAYC token holders, and some of their songs are inspired by their NFT collections.
The undeniable evidence that is easy to observe of the growing popularity of performances using Metawerse is the fact that under VMAs a separate category "Best Metawerse Performance" has been created. This proves that Metaverse is systematically entering the mainstream. It is interesting that Justin Bieber, Twenty One Pilots and Rift Tour are also nominated in this category.
We can speculate what prompted MTV to get involved in the Metaverse. The most popular theory is that MTV is facing a declining VMAs viewer base, which has dropped to just 900k since its 2011 peak with a staggering 12.4 million viewers, marking MTV's eighth consecutive year of decline.
The Otherside is an increasingly popular metaverse platform offering digital plots in a virtual world linked to BAYC. In the crypto world the owners of these plots were called "Voyagers". Otherside is a project developed between the gaming company Animoca Brands and Yuga Labs.
Based on the data collected and compiled by CryptoClam, the sales volume of NFT tokens offered by Otherland has so far reached USD 1 billion. It should be emphasized that one of the plots was sold for 333.33 ETH (approximately 565 k USD)!
This July, 4,500 lucky users of the Otherside had the opportunity to experience the virtual world developed and offered by the platform for the first time.
