Jordan Belfort: I was wrong about Bitcoin and Ethereum

Jordan Belfort's candid confession about cryptocurrencies.

The original Wolf of Wall Street, Jordan Belfort, says Bitcoin (BTC) has outperformed his expectations. In an interview with Yahoo Finance, the popular and infamous stockbroker who inspired the filming of the popular Hollywood blockbuster says he is not a fan of most cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin cryptocurrency will not lose its value. Ethereum is also interesting. Jordan Belfort on cryptocurrencies

Jordan Belfort was once referred to by Forbes as "the twisted version of Robin Hood." He was to rob the rich and give to himself and the brokers he hired. For his misdeeds, he was sent to prison, where he began writing his story. This was then used by Martin Scorsese to film the hit "The Wolf of Wall Street".

Returning to the topic of digital assets, Belfort recently admitted that he expected Bitcoin's value to reset. This one has exceeded his expectations so far.

- “I stand by everything I said at a time when I really hated cryptocurrencies, which was 2017. Except for one thing. I was wrong that Bitcoin is heading to zero - admits Jordan Belfort after some time.

In 2018, Belfort made shocking words to crypto enthusiasts that there is "no good reason" why digital assets should exist. In addition to being a profitable financial pyramid. Today, the ex-embed believes Bitcoin is a solid long-term play.

- “I think the whole point right now is that you have to look at Bitcoin and not take a 12 or 24 month horizon. With any luck, I think if you consider the 24-month horizon you will almost certainly make money. If you take a three-, four-, five-year horizon, I would be shocked if you did not make money, because the foundations on which the first-ever cryptocurrency stands seem extremely strong, he continued.

Along with Bitcoin, Belfort says his second choice for long-term investment (no surprise) is the leading Ethereum Smart Contracts (ETH) platform.

Supply is limited and as inflation continues, at some point Bitcoin and Ethereum will mature enough to be profitable," he concluded.

As of this writing, Bitcoin costs $ 21,500, while Ethereum changes hands for $ 1,620.
