Aptos launches its main network with FTX
Aptos, the Solana Exterminator, launches with FTX backing
After 4 years of development, which were necessary for the development of the technical architecture, Aptos launched its main network. The leading exchange of cryptocurrency derivatives and the strategic investor of this project - FTX has already confirmed that the native APT token will be listed on their trading platform. Aptos, called by some "the exterminator of Solana", is the latest high-profile attempt to build the perfect blockchain for smart contracts.
The Aptos infrastructure will revolutionize the transaction ordering algorithm
The project, which aims to build a 'perfect' blockchain for smart contracts serving a vast ecosystem of decentralized finance, has finally launched its main network after many years of work.
Although the debut of Aptos was long-awaited, it did not take place without technical problems. Co-founder of this project, Mo Shaikh, posted on Twitter that the introduction of the mainnet was exciting, but in retrospect, he personally thinks everything could have gone better.
Validators involved in securing the main network have previously undergone extensive testing. Before launching its flagship project, Aptos could boast a substantial number of 130,000 transactions per second (TPS). At the time of its launch, the number of transactions per second was only 4 TPS. This is less than what the Bitcoin network (BTC) is currently processing. Mo Shaikh emphasized, however, that the Aptos team predicts that the number of transactions per second should increase proportionally with greater activity on the blockchain.
APT will be listed on FTX
The leading cryptocurrency derivatives exchange, one of Aptosa's investors, has already announced that it will launch spot and perpetual futures on the APT token. This trade is expected to start on October 19. Initially, the pairs offered will be APT / USD, APT / USDT, and APT-PERP. It's worth adding here that FTX has confirmed that it will be adding more trading options on the Aptos native token over time.
Exchanges such as Binance and OKX also announced the launch of perpetual contracts for APT.
