The Synthetix Network Token (SNX) is a token created on the Ethereum network that supports Synthetix, a decentralized financial protocol for issuing synthetic assets. These synthetic assets are minted when token holders deposit their SNX as collateral using Mintr, which is a decentralized application for interacting with Synthetix smart contracts. The Synthetix protocol currently supports a wide range of synthetic financial instruments, including synthetic fiat currencies, cryptocurrencies and commodities.
