Binance Coin or BNB is a cryptocurrency traded on the world's largest centralized cryptocurrency exchange platform, which is Binance. BNB used to operate on the Ethereum blockchain as an ERC 20 token, but now it operates on the Binance Smart Chain blockchain, which from today's perspective is its native network. BNB went public in July 2017 to serve as a discount tool for transactions in the initial coin offering.

Since BNB operates on its native blockchain, it has become much more functional. This is because it is currently possible to perform a number of operations, including the management of numerous transactional applications. BNB holders can now shop or pay for flight reservations and other online services using the Binance Smart Chain and its native token.

BNB has a predetermined rigid maximum volume of 200 million tokens. At launch, the Binance team offered approximately 20 million BNB (10%) to business angels as part of the ICO, while 80 million tokens (approximately 40%) were offered to the team working on behalf of Binance.
